Warner Bros. has confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Mortal Kombat X have been delayed until summer. The Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions are still on track to release on 14 April.

“Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer,” Warner Bros said in a statement. “The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14.”

The rumour first appeared on video games forum NeoGAF earlier this month alongside talk of a September release date for Mad Max, 24 hours before Warner Bros.’ official announcement.

In good news, Friday the 13th’s iconic villain, Jason Voorhees, will join the roster of fighters in Mortal Kombat X as downloadable DLC.

The legendary slasher will also be joined by three other unannounced characters, and all four special editions will come with the pass included. Those with the Kombat Pack will have early access to all DLC before it goes live to the public.
