Best PS4 games

If you’re on the fence about buying a PS4, this list of impressive PS4 exclusives should help make that decision a whole lot easier.

Resogun

If intense, fast-paced space shooters are more your thing, Resogun will be right up your alley. The gorgeous sci-fi action game tests your reflexes by sending horde after horde of enemy aircraft onto the screen and trusting you have the thumb skills to blast them all away before being overpowered.

Instead of taking place on a flat 2D surface, each level takes place on the side of a cylinder. That means that enemies you miss on the left can swoop around and attack you from the right. It also means you have more maneuverability, because you can fly your ship left or right to help tackle the enemies the game throws at you. And of course, it has some awesome guns for you to blow enemies away with.

Killzone: Shadow Fall

The Killzone franchise really made its name with Killzone 2 and 3 on the PS3, but the PS4’s launch title, Shadow Fall, brought the gritty FPS series from Guerilla Games to the next generation.

The visually stunning release took a different approach to the on-going tension between the Helghast and ISA, throwing players into the role of a new hero 30 years after the events of Killzone 3.

The game delivered on its promises, bringing a new arc to the epic story, some incredible weapons to blast away those orange-googled Helghast, and the beautiful yet haunting visuals we’ve come to expect from the franchise.

InFamous: Second Son

The InFamous games are arguably some of the strongest in the PS3’s library, and with the long-awaited third instalment, InFamous: Second Son, the franchise doesn’t disappoint.

Second Son sees the government imprisoning people with special powers so they can’t cause harm to the rest of society. Obviously, this doesn’t sit well with the superheroes.

The game utilises the power of the Playstation 4 to full effect, as the title brings a gorgeously fictionalised version of Seattle to life. If using a city as a playground for a variety of superpowers sounds like a good time to you, be sure to grab this one.

The Last of Us: Remastered

Yeah, we know – The Last of Us was a PlayStation 3 game, but this remastered version is exclusive to the PlayStation 4. The game takes place after a fungal outbreak has destroyed the world, but the focus is really on the relationship between two protagonists as they make their way across a post-apocalyptic US.

Thanks to the extra horsepower of the PlayStation 4, the PS4 version runs in 1080p resolution, with 60 frames per second. This edition also comes with all of the DLC released for the original game, plus a commentary track you can listen to as you play through the campaign. The Last of Us: Remastered is the definitive version of one of the best games ever made, which makes it land in first place on the list.

Bloodborne

The new darling of the PS4 will make you beg for mercy, and then lure you into trying that pesky boss one more time. This bleak title is set in a Victorian steampunk city whose streets are teeming with some of the most frightful creatures ever created. You explore the world, exterminating every enemy you find, including towering bosses that are all but guaranteed to give you nightmares.

No – as in you disagree with the list or just no in general?

I disagree. I would put DriveClub in that list but I’m pretty sure no one would after that rough launch but if you look past that, you do see an amazing game. And why would you put a remaster in a list? You can’t teach a old dog new tricks.

I don’t know, I think this is a great list of games that non-ps4 owners are familiar with.

Although Helldivers is available on PS Vita and PC It’s still a PS4 exclusive and the best one currently only Resogun is equally good. But for AAA exclusives is lacking in quality currently both the Xbox One and the WiiU have better exclusives than the PS4.
