1. The Craven Lounge at Lanzerac Wine Estate

With its famous cobwebbed window, the cosy “downstairs” cellar at Delheim is chockfull of charm. It’s warm in winter and if you are looking for something extra special, then ask the tasting room staff to show you to the little-known “Collector’s Corner” at the back.
3. Terroir at Kleine Zalze
Terroir at Kleine Zalze offers winter visitors some enticing winter specials including the Winter Plate which offers a hearty winter meal along with a generous glass of Kleine Zalze Vineyard Selection wine (a choice of red or white), at R195 per person. Plus, with their perfectly placed indoor heaters, you’ll always be warm and comfy!
4. Bistro13 at Stellenbosch Vineyards
Bistro13 at Stellenbosch Vineyards offers visitors a warm, crackling fireplace, a comfortable lounge area where you can enjoy a glass of wine and a fresh new winter menu! The new, comfy tasting room opened in November 2014 and is beautifully decorated with grey walls, wooden elements and plush arm chairs, injecting a bit of luxury into your wine tasting experience. Peckish tasters can order a food platter to accompany their wine and coffee, tea and soft drinks are also available as non-alcoholic options. The tasting fee is R30 for five wines – and you are spoilt for choice on a selection of Credo, Stellenbosch Vineyards, Four Secrets, Infusions and Welmoed.
5. Guardian Peak tasting room
Visit this unique winery and spend the afternoon reclining on a luxurious couch while tasting their delicious wines next to the crackling fireplace. If you’re keen to stay a little longer then head to the adjacent Guardian Peak restaurant for fabulous views of the vineyards and a yummy winter menu.
