Xbox One Gets Massive Price-Cut In SA
Good news, gamers! Prima Interactive has announced a price-drop for the Xbox One console
The Xbox One is set to receive a substantial price-cut in South Africa, and if that’s not something to smile about, we don’t know what is.
The price drop, which was announced by Prima Interactive, is effective today, 23 July, cutting R800 off the recommended retail price of standard Xbox One consoles.
The 500GB console will now be available for R5,499, down from the previous RRP of R6,299.
“Thursday, 23 July 2015 is D-day. The recommended price on the Xbox One 500G console will drop by R800. Buying theconsole now also brings with it the promise of access to the world’s best games and the best online gaming experience,” said Ian Hepplewhite, the CEO at Prima Interactive.
The next big reason to get an Xbox One 500G, according to Hepplewhite, is that from spring 2015 it will be backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games.
“This is an amazing feature exclusive to Xbox One and it means that you don’t have to give up playing your favourite Xbox 360 games when you opt for the new Xbox One console. You can continue playing familiar favourites while enjoying a world of exciting new ones,” he added.
The Xbox One will be available at the new price at BT Games, CNA, Dion Wired, Game, Toys R US, Takealot.com, Musica, Games4u, and Animeworx.
