Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Unlocks All Gears Of War Games For Free
Rev up those chainsaws, the Gears are a-coming!
If you’re lining up some free time for some curb-stomping when Gears of War: Ultimate Edition releases this month, you better free up your schedule, because the overhauled game comes with all past Gears of War games.
Announced via the Xbox Wire, if you buy Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, you’ll get the entire Gears collection via Xbox One Backward Compatibility – that includes Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment.
There’s a small catch though (well, not a catch, more of a requirement) – you have to play Ultimate Edition on Xbox Live at some point from 25 August to 31 December 2015 to access the four previous games in Backward Compatibility when the feature launches in September.
This is a great opportunity for those who never played the games to backtrack through the original trilogy and spin-off (Judgment), but what if you already own rhem? Well, you can even keep all your previously-saved Xbox 360 files, game add-ons, and achievements, and play with friends on Xbox Live no matter which Xbox console they’re on. Pretty neat.
