Puma Netfit Range — Everything You Need to Know
Lacing gets an overhaul with Puma’s new line of sports and lifestyle shoes.
Puma has introduced its new Netfit range, bringing an interesting spin to the sport and lifestyle segment of the German brand’s footwear lineup.
So, with all the technical jargon aside, what is Netfit? Puma’s Netfit technology is a unique customisable lacing system that offers a huge variety of performance and style options in one shoe. The system enhances fit and support by combining a high grade engineered net with form-fitting base materials. With netted mesh, users will now have complete control and versatility over how they lace up. No matter the style, needs, or shape, you can customise your shoe the way you see fit.
Puma has unveiled 5 models in the Netfit range, each serving a unique purpose with different intensities of use in mind.
Puma Ignite Netfit
Available: July 2017
Price: R2,199
The Puma Ignite Netfit are the flagship, of sorts, and the true runners of the Netfit lineup. The upper comprises of Puma’s evoknit form fitting knit for added comfort and a refined look. The heel is reinforced by a TPU Heel Clip, locking the heel into the platform of the shoe, and a moulded EVA sockliner for ultimate stabilisation during running. And finally, allowing wearers to always wear loud, additional coloured laces adds further customisation.
Puma Speed Ignite Netfit
Available: now
Price: R2,999 for men’s| R2,899 for ladies.
The Speed iteration of the Ignite Netfit takes what the new Ignite introduces but features more high-end sports tweaks to make it a lighter (43%, in fact), more agile, and faster shoe. The dual layer midsole features Puma’s proprietary Ignite PU foam that provides long lasting energy return and PUMA’s moulded Eco Ortholite Sockliner offering a breathable, anti-microbial sockliner for exceptional step-in comfort. The Speed Ignite Netfit all sits on Puma’s high-grade engineered outsole, giving users a propulsion zone featuring forefoot flex grooves fortified by rubber to provide a snappy, quick toe-off during the run.
Puma Limitless Netfit
Price: R2,499
For increased visibility, the Limitless, which is somewhat a hybrid of street and sports wear, comes with added sets of colored laces and a reflective heel clip logo ensuring that you’re seen when you’re hitting the streets, even into the night. The midsole boasts a high shine full length TPU jewel piece running along the top line of the outsole for a supportive ride. The core of the midsole is constructed by IMEVA and an Ignite foam drop-in for lightweight performance and superior energy return.
Puma Evospeed Netfit indoor
Price: R2,199
The new evoSpeed Netfit Indoor is made for the fast and agile indoor athlete. Along with the Netfit lacing features, a spandex sock rising to the ankle secures the foot for a stable, comfortable fit. The lightweight EVA midsole features Ignite foam in the heel to maximise cushioning on hard indoor surfaces. Further stability is provided by an embedded Speedtrack sole that gives real torsional strength and grip to the user.
365 Ignite Netfit
Available: August 2017
The 365 Netfit is a performance shoe combining cutting edge style and performance features perfect for small-sided football on hard surfaces. The Netfit upper allows players to enhance and fine tune their fit to make them the best player they can be, and a form-fitting base material gives them the platform to play. A new low-profile rubber Ignite midsole provides excellent grip for quick, agile turns along with optimal cushioning.
