5 biggest movie releases

The weekend is around the corner and if you’re looking for a relaxed trip to the cinemas this weekend, and there’s a lot of choice on offer with some big releases launching this Friday, 22 May, so here’s your handy guide on what you should be watching:

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland – inspired by the attractions at Walt Disney World, as its name implies – has been largely shrouded in mystery since its announcement. The film stars Britt Robertson as a teen who stumbles across the existence of a fantastical place and must track down a washed-up scientist (George Clooney) to learn the many secrets it holds. So far, footage of the film has been extremely intriguing, promising an adventure filled with equal parts wonder and excitement.

Hot Pursuit

If you’re looking for some comedy relief this weekend, Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara and Reese Whitherspoon star in a buddy-comedy about an uptight and by-the-book cop who tries to protect the sexy and outgoing widow of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.

Stone Cold Jane Austen

A bit of local flavour hits cinemas this weekend with Stone Cold Jane Austen: the untold story of one of the greatest band that ever lived. It stars the hilarious ob Van Vuuren, Jon Savage, Kurt Schoonraad, and Kurt Darren.

A Most Violent Year

Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac star in a searing crime drama set in New York City during the winter of 1981, the most dangerous year in the city’s history. The gripping story plays out within a maze of rampant political and industry corruption plaguing the streets of a city in decay, highlighting one immigrant’s determined climb up a morally crooked ladder, where simmering rivalries and unprovoked attacks threaten his business, family, and, above all, his unwavering belief in the righteousness of his own path.

The Forger

John Travolta stars as the world’s best art forger who makes a deal with a crime syndicate to get an early release from prison, but, in return, he must pull off an impossible heist—he must forge a painting by Claude Monet, steal the original from a museum and replace it with a replica so perfect that no one will notice. He enlists the help of his father and son, and together they plan the heist of their lives.

Stone Cold Jane Austen and Tomorrowland looks like two really good movies. But I won’t be seeing any movies this weekend. So maybe next week or the week after that.

A Most Violent Year looks awesome!!!!!!! I’m also keen for Hot Persuit, Sofia and Reese. A combo that could work well.
