Following the announcement of Rugby Challenge 3 earlier this week, local distributor Megarom has announced that a Springboks Edition of the highly-anticipated game will be available in South Africa upon launch.

The Springboks Edition will feature the likes of Springbok captain Jean de Villiers, winger Bryan Habana, and prop Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira on the cover.

The Springboks license is a new addition to the Rugby Challenge franchise, as the first two games in the series featured only the All Blacks and Wallabies licenses from the SANZAR nations.

The official announcement made earlier this week also revealed revealed that Wicked Witch would be developing the game, as opposed to Sidhe, who handled development on Rugby Challenge 1 and 2.  Wicked Witch is known for its development on Tru Blu’s AFL Australian rules football games.

New to Rugby Challenge 3 will be the inclusion of Be A Pro mode, a Fan-hub to allow players to create their own players and teams, the Super Rugby, ITM Cup and Currie Cup tournaments, and for the first-time in a video game, Sevens rugby.

Rugby League Challenge 3 will be released in late 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
