Red Bull X Fighters

Red Bull X-Fighters freestyle motocross event his heading our way on the 12th of September in Pretoria in front of the iconic Union Buildings (remember to get your tickets). We’ve already looked at the 5 biggest tricks from past X-Fighters events, and now we take a look at 5 of the most exciting riders that will be tearing up the dirt in Pretoria.

Nick de Wit (RSA)

“Sick” Nick de Wit will be flying the South African flag in Pretoria amongst the world’s greatest FMX riders. De Wit has dominated the SA freestyle Moto-X scene for the past few years and is currently ranked 5th in the world. He started riding Moto-X competitively late in life, as a geriatric 17 year old, and from there moved into FMX and has never looked back. Expect some aggressive riding and furious tricks from this local.

Clinton Moore (AUS)

At his first Red Bull X-Fighters event in 2014, he amazed the fans in Madrid with gnarly tricks like the Doom. Clinton is a spectacular rider, with an incredible bag of tricks that amazes the fans in any country and that´s exactly the reason he’s leading the X-Fighters log in points.

Tom Pagès (FRA)

Thomas Pagès represents a new generation of riders who are determined to take FMX to the next level. In the space of just two years, the super-talented Frenchman has gone from practicing in his own back yard to competing with the best riders in the world. In 2008, Thomas and brother Charles became the first duo to get the frontflip down on film – a move that sent shockwaves through the FMX community and propelled the brothers into the limelight. In 2012, Tom picked up two FMX Awards – Best International FMX Rider and Best European FMX Rider – and in 2013 he won the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. Keep an eye on this flying Frenchman.

Levi Sherwood (NZL)

After huge success and some hair-raising moments performing in his native New Zealand, Levi has transitioned to the international scene in incredible style. The fearless rider triumphed from the very beginning and proved that he wasn’t there to simply mess about. With some great X-Fighters wins and performances over the years, and a combination of outrageous tricks, Levi has earned himself the reputation as a world-class rider, as well as the nickname “Rubber Kid”, not to mention a few X Games medals and a nomination to the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year in 2011.

David Rinaldo (FRA)

Another Frenchman on the tour is David Rinaldo. The 25-year-old is a perfect example of the diversity of the sport, as he expresses a profound affection for the roots of FMX with his style while also mixing things up with some heavy New School tricks. Having Double Grab Flips and other gnarly combos in his bag of tricks, Rinaldo can rock the house and could well be a surprise package for any event he shows up.
