As we head into the holiday season, Hollywood is delivering some massive movies and big-name blockbusters, and November is when things get rolling. We’ve got some highly-anticipated sequels, spy-thrillers, and book adaptations coming our way; so here’s the 10 most anticipated movies this month:

Bridge of Spies

Release date: 6 November

Bridge of Spies is set to be Steven Spielberg’s first project since 2011, when he was nominated for an Academy Award for Lincoln. The movie stars Tom Hanks, who plays an attorney who negotiates the release of a detained American U-2 pilot during the Cold War.

 

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse

Release date: 6 November

If you’re in the mood for a raunchy horror-comedy, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is the film you’ll be eager to sink your teeth into. It follows three scouts and lifelong friends who join forces with one badass cocktail waitress to become the world’s most unlikely team of heroes. When their peaceful town is ravaged by a zombie invasion, they’ll fight for the badge of a lifetime and put their scouting skills to the test to save mankind from the undead.

 

The Program

Release date: 13 November

A biography about Lance Armstrong, based on David Walsh’s book, Seven Deadly Sins. An Irish sports journalist becomes convinced that Lance Armstrong’s performances during the Tour de France victories are fueled by banned substances. With this conviction, he starts hunting for evidence that will expose Armstrong. The film stars Ben Foster, Chris O’Dowd, and Guillaume Caneta.

 

The Loft

Release date: 13 November

Karl Urban, James Marsden, Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet, and Matthias Schoenaerts all star in The Loft. Five married guys conspire to secretly share a penthouse loft in the city – a place where they can carry out hidden affairs and indulge in their deepest fantasies. But the fantasy becomes a nightmare when they discover the dead body of an unknown woman in the loft, and they realise one of the group must be involved.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2

Release date: 19 November

One of the most anticipated films for the fall season is undoubtedly The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. As the hit franchise wraps up its main storyline, fans will be able to get a last glimpse of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) as she wages her revolutionary war on President Snow and the autocratic Capitol.

 

No Escape

Release date: 20 November

Owen Wilson and Pierce Brosnan star in this action thriller, entitled No Escape. The film follows an American family who soon find themselves caught in the middle of a coup in their new adopted home country. They have to frantically look for a safe escape in an environment where foreigners are being immediately executed.

 

Maggie

Release date: 20 November

One of the most interesting and under-the-radar films this year has to be Maggie. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin, the film follows a teenage girl in the Midwest who becomes infected by an outbreak of a disease that slowly turns the infected into cannibalistic zombies. During her transformation, her loving father stays by her side.

 

Spectre

Release date: 27 November

Spectre marks the fourth time Daniel Craig will be starring as James Bond in the hit franchise. This time around, the movie centres on a story adapted from one of Ian Fleming’s original works involving a rogue spy agency named Spectre. The superb acting talent of Christoph Waltz joins the cast as the maniacal villain, which is sure to bring some new life into Bond’s rogues gallery.

Return to sender

Release date: 27 November

Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike stars in Return to Sender, which follows a nurse living in small town who goes on a blind date with a man who is not the person he says he is. Nick Nolte and Shiloh Fernandez also star.

 

Rock the Kasbah

Release date: 27 November

Rock the Kasbah could be the bizarre comedy of the year. Starring Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Zooey Deschanel, Kate Hudson, and Danny McBride, the film is about a down-on-his-luck music manager who discovers a teenage girl with an extraordinary voice while on a music tour in Afghanistan and takes her to Kabul to compete on the popular television show, Afghan Star.

    I’m actually shocked The Loft is here..watched this a few months back and I liked it..didn’t know it was not out yet… I love anything with Zombies, except that Warm Bodies movie..sucked…uhhm can’t wait for Bond…thanks for a great post coz I did not know about some of the movies here..
