This week, we get a mix of adventure, action, and drama – giving everyone a bit everything with their movie-night selections. So if you’re looking for some animalistic action, gunfights and treachery, or a little historical entertainment, here’s the biggest movies hitting SA this Friday, 15 July:

The Legend of Tarzan

Release date: 15 July 2016

Alexander Skarsgård packed on the muscle to play the iconic Tarzan in this new reimagined story of the iconic character. Years after leaving the jungles of Africa and adopting a gentrified life in London as John Clayton III, Tarzan is invited back to his former home in the Congo as a trade emissary of Parliament. Unbeknown to him and his wife, Jane Porter, his homecoming is part of a deadly plot masterminded by corrupt and greedy Belgian Captain Léon Rom. Ella Purnell, Margot Robbie, and Samuel L. Jackson also star.

Marauders

Mr. Die Hard himself, Bruce Willis, returns in Marauders, alongside Guardian of the Galaxy‘s Dave Bautista and Christopher Meloni. Jonathan Montgomery (Willis), a suicidal FBI agent with a dark past, works to chase down and apprehend an elusive group of bank robbers wanted in connection with homicide. When they target a bank in Cincinnati, the two forces converge only to discover that, Hubert, the wiley bank manager, may have a few skeletons of his own in the old bank vault.

Genius

Release date: 15 July 2016

Colin Firth plays famed New York literary editor Max Perkins, with Jude Law as his most challenging author, Thomas Wolfe, in theatre director Michael Grandage’s feature debut, Genius. Vanessa Kirby, Guy Pearce, and Nicole Kidman also star in this chronicle of Perkins’s time as the book editor at Scribner, where he, in addition to Wolfe, oversaw works by Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and others.
