Is This The End Of Music?

Rebecca Black in all her musical glory, left us with a memory. A memory of the first time we heard her viral tune “Friday,” looked at/called a friend and had a good laugh. “It’s the worst song i’ve ever heard” we said, “I can’t believe this is what music had come to! How can it get worse!” Rebecca came and went, and although her musical talent was dubious at best, we still look back on her brief moment in the limelight with a shimmer of nostalgia….. a very slight shimmer, but a shimmer nonetheless!

Enter “Hot Problems” by Double Take. From the get-go i’m going to throw it out there – this is rubbish. Here are two teenage girls whining about how difficult it is to be “hot,” because everyone seems to hate on them – sounds terrible doesn’t it…

Musically; it’s stale, off key, badly auto-tuned, contrived and worst of all, it’s not even catchy. At least “Friday” got stuck in your head and made you laugh. These two girls’ lack of any kind of pop sensibility has resulted in an almost offensive song (when I say offense, I mean regarding the human race), which is nothing more than an example of these two girls’ own deep confusion and misunderstanding regarding the world around them.

I never thought I’d say this…….. Save us Rebecca Black! Save us! The “popocalypse” is upon us…
