Some tight encounters, brilliant individual performances, and dramatic moments made for an incredibly entertaining weekend of sport. But with so many great highlights, we decided to rank out top 5; so without further ado, here are our picks of the best sporting moments from the past weekend:
Lawes’ hit on Cliff
Midway through Saturday’s game between the Saints and Bristol, England lock Courtney Lawes launched himself in the direction of scrum half, Will Cliff, who was trying to be a little too clever in possession.
Pedro’s goal
Pedro continued his fine form for Chelsea, beautifully burying a brace in a comfortable win over Peterborough.

Woodward’s heroics
Former Hurricane Jason Woodward started and finished one of the best tries of the weekend, chipping out of his 22, with Tom Varndell winning the race to the ball and returning it inside for the fullback to race away.
Higuain’s classy finish
Gonzalo Higuain’s brace helped Juventus sweep Bologna aside 3-0 and set a new all-time record of 26 consecutive Serie A home wins.
Welsh’s cheeky chip
While it didn’t result in a try, 124kg prop Jon Welsh pulled off a cheeky chip and chase against Bath that was well worth a watch. Not bad from the big fella.
