The likes of Adidas and Nike have introduced sock-like boots over the last season, and Puma has just introduced a somewhat similar, yet different take on the concept with the EvoPower Vigor – a revamped design of the popular EvoPowers.

True to the name, the Vigors don’t change the DNA behind the EvoPower line, still offering a solid all-round boot for control, speed, accuracy, and of course, power when shooting or striking the ball, but there are some new changes to the boot – and they’re happening in the uppers.

The one-way stretchable ADAP-LITE upper support cage allows the foot to bend freely, mimicking the motion of barefoot kicking. Accuracy is supplied by the newly engineered AccuFoam 3D PU dots that adorn the upper. GripTex improves grip on the ball in wet conditions when teeing up the shot. A slip-on construction with stretchable sock provides the ultimate fit, a mix of bladed and conical studs for added stability to the stance leg when shooting and overall maneuverability gives you the support.

On Puma’s greatest design overhaul yet in the Power franchise, Olivier Giroud said: “I’ve been wearing EvoPower for some time now and while Puma always makes great developments to the boot, the new EvoPower Vigor 1 is next level. I’m enjoying playing in a boot with a slip on sock construction – it is ridiculously comfortable plus the foam dots are a total gamechanger for me. I enjoy making an impact on the pitch and in these bold Green boots I definitely will. Let’s just say the bar has been officially raised.”
