Jessica Chastain set to star in Iron Man 3
Third installment in Iron Man series getting even more solid talent.
Rising star Jessica Chastain will be joining an already impressive cast for the third installment in the Iron Man franchise.
It is reported that Chastain will play a scientist, Dr Maya Hansen. The news comes after last week’s confirmation that Ben Kingsley will play the film’s main antagonist and Australian Guy Pearce will join the cast as Aldrich Killian.
Chastain was offered the role previously, but scheduling conflicts prevented her from committing to the project. Producers apparently considered Diane Kruger and Isla Fisher for the part until her schedule finally opened up.
The rest of the cast includes Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.
Chastain, the new it girl of the moment starred in six films last year and received an Oscar nomination as Celia Foote for The Help.
Iron Man 3 will open in exactly a year from now, on the 3rd of May 2013.
