As things begin to wind down for the month of May (which has been a fantastic month for releases, by the way), we’ve got a few titles on the horizon, including a horror-filled return for Jason Voorhees, a psychologically-warping shooter, and an interesting adventure game to get our brains turning.

Here’s what you can expect to arrive this week, 22-28 May 2017:

Friday the 13th

Release date: 26 May 2017 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counsellor, or for the first time ever, the masked-lunatic himself, Jason Voorhees. You and six other unlucky souls will do everything possible to escape and survive while the most well-known killer in the world tracks you down and brutally slaughters you. Friday the 13th will strive to give every single player the tools to survive, escape or even try to take down the man who cannot be killed. Each and every gameplay session will give you an entirely new chance to prove if you have what it takes not only to survive, but to best the most prolific killer in cinema history, a slasher with more kills than any of his rivals. However, if you’re playing as Jason, you’ll have an array of abilities to track, hunt and kill your prey.

Get Even

Release date: 26 May 2017 (PS4, Xbox One)

Bandai Namco’s new game is not your normal kind of indie title, but a tense psychological thriller in which nothing is real. Get Even sees you playing as Cole Black, a mercenary and hired gun, who wakes up in a mysterious asylum with no memory. Under the guidance of his anonymous captor, ‘Red’, Black embarks on a form of treatment, facilitated by a unique technology – a headset that allows the user to relive their memories and experience them again in the present. It sounds like an intriguing concept, and if it manages to blend the psychological aspect with some solid shooting mechanics, we could have a sleeper hit on our hands.

Rime

Release date: 26 May 2017 (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

The beautiful, cell-shaded adventure game, which was originally revealed back in 2013, has somewhat fallen off the map. But the promising-looking title is arriving this week. The mysterious puzzle-filled island, which the entirety of the game takes place on, along with the gameplay mechanics, take inspiration from the likes of Legend of Zelda, ICO, and Shadow of the Colossus, requiring players to explore, climb, and solve physical puzzles in order to discover the secrets of the cryptic island.
