Spotify Now Available in South Africa!
Another big-name music streaming service comes to SA!
Streaming services are rolling out in South Africa en masse, with most companies correctly recognising the decent market potential offered on our sunny shores. Spotify, the Swedish music streaming giant, is the latest streaming service to make itself available down here in the Republic.
“We have had the continent in our sights for a while and are finally able to offer South African fans access to all the music they already love on Spotify, while helping them to enjoy, discover and share new music from both local and international artists simply and easily.” said Michael Krause, Spotify MD, EMEA.
Users can listen for free forever, or alternatively can upgrade to Spotify Premium for the ultimate Spotify experience for only R59.99 per month.
One of the key features of Spotify is its personalisation, which allows fans to find the music they already love with ease, and will also help them discover new music and artists to love, based on their taste and listening patterns. When a new user joins Spotify, we take them through a ‘Taste Onboarding’ process, which helps Spotify quickly learn more about your music tastes.
Gamers will also be glad to know that you can enjoy Spotify on your PS4. You can listen to any song, album or playlist on demand, or even control Spotify via the Playstation Music app through the Quick Menu without interrupting the game.
MyBroadBand recently released stats indicating that South Africa’s adoption of music streaming services had grown by over 300% between 2015 and 2016 – adding more weight to the argument that our market is open to more streaming options being added.
You can download the Spotify app today via the Android or iOS app store or by heading to the official website.
