The Sharks showed a superior performance to outplay the  Griquas in  42-3 victory at Mr Price Kings Park.

The Sharks just needed a win to finish up top of the log after the weekend, but the men from Durban even managed to pick up four tries.

Patrick Lambie made an impressive return to the team  after spending some time on the Springbok bench, and shone in the flyhalf position.

He did miss a first-half penalty but he slotted most of his kicks, showing that the 21-year old deserves to be in the playmaker position.

Lambie put through a sharp grubber, which was picked up by Louis Ludik in the 27th minute, with fullback Louis Ludik coming through to grab the ball and score.

Lambie missed that conversion, but the young scrumhalf Cobus Reinach made an impact and scored after receiving a return pass from the wing.

Lwazi Mvovo scored the third try two minutes from the break after taking an inside pass from Lambie close to the line.

Mntembu came on off the bench and made an impression by getting over tryline, with Charl McLeod also stepping up from the sidelines to score a try.

Lambie was the deserved recipient of the man of the match award and seemed to become more assured the longer the game lasted, and he was in the thick of things as the Sharks closed out the game in the second half.

Scorers:

Sharks – Tries: Lwazi Mvovo, Tera Mtembu, Louis Ludik, Cobus Reinach, Charl McLeod. Conversions: Pat Lambie (4). Penalties: Lambie (3).
Griquas – Penalty: Francois Brummer.
