The Hussar Grill Camps Bay Reopens with a Fresh New Look
The much-loved Camps Bay restaurant has undergone a major renovation.
The Hussar Grill in Camps Bay is something of an institution but even much-loved old favourites can benefit from a facelift. After more than a decade of serving up some of the best steaks in Cape Town, this popular eatery closed its doors to undergo a major renovation. Now, after what seemed like a painstakingly long wait, The Hussar Grill Camps Bay has finally reopened its doors to reveal its fresh new look!
Combining incredible views of Camps Bay with an exceptional dining experience, The Hussar Grill Camps Bay stands out for its unparalleled consistency and popularity, amongst locals and visitors alike. The restaurant is currently the number 1 restaurant in Camps Bay according to TripAdvisor, a ranking it has held over the years and is a go-to for families, couples, and friends looking for to satisfy their carnivorous cravings.
Part of the restaurant’s appeal is most definitely its cosy atmosphere. Slightly larger than most of the other The Hussar Grill restaurants, The Hussar Grill Camps Bay is recognisable for its old-world dining room and bar, complete with dark-wood finishings and banquet-style seating. Here, a collection of antique pieces, vintage books, wine bottles and wooden wine crates and oak barrels add to the décor. In winter a blazing fireplace warms the relaxed, cosy atmosphere.
While the restaurant has always had a great atmosphere, the recent renovation has revealed a refreshed aesthetic that doesn’t sacrifice the warmth and ambience for which the restaurant is known. “We’ve upgraded the space with a more contemporary feel, while retaining the cosiness that we’re legendary for,” says Cheldon Gatcke, General Manager of The Hussar Grill Camps Bay.
Regulars at The Hussar Grill Camps Bay will immediately notice the difference in the look and feel of the restaurant space. The newly revamped space feels a lot more open and modern and works to further emphasise the incredible view. “We now have a brand-new kitchen, a new toilet block with facilities for all our guests, including those requiring wheelchair access, as well as improved lighting and ventilation throughout the venue,’ Gatcke continues. But, even with all the changes the restaurant still feels like The Hussar Grill we all know and love. “We’ve upgraded the space with a more contemporary feel, while retaining the cosiness that we’re legendary for,” concludes Gatcke.
Newly re-opened and brandishing fresh appeal, The Hussar Grill Camps Bay is now taking reservations.
