Resident Evil 3 Remake Revealed, First Trailer Released

After numerous leaks earlier in the week, Capcom has officially revealed the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 3.

The announcement came at Sony’s State of Play event, whereby the publisher showcased the forthcoming game in a new trailer, revealing the return of Jill Valentine to the series.

The game will take a similar form to this year’s brilliant Resident Evil 2 remake, returning to an over-the-shoulder camera, mechanics, and visuals similar to RE 2.

Resident Evil 3 will follow a similar core story as the 1999 original, but Capcom will make modern changes where necessary to tie it into their revitalised RE universe. Set at the same time that the events of Resident Evil 2 are taking place, it follows heroine Jill Valentine as she tries to escape Racoon City while dodging a new unstoppable creature known as Nemesis.

It was also confirmed that another Resident Evil game Capcom has been working on, the multiplayer-centric Resident Evil: Resistance, will come bundled with the Resident Evil 3 remake.

Resident Evil 3 will hit Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC beginning 3 April 2020.
