With the news that a re-cut version of 2017’s Justice League will be released on HBO Max in 2021, some new footage for Zack Snyder’s original version of the film has been released.

The new  video is less than 30 seconds, but gives new shots of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, exploring a tomb which reveals a mural of iconic villain Darkseid (who was cut from the 2017 film), before cutting to a shot of him on his home-world, Apokalips.

The impending release of the fan-demanded Snyder Cut follows an internet campaign which requested that original director Zack Snyder’s edit of the film, rather than Ross Whedon’s, which made it into theatres.

Snyder had to step away towards the end of filming Justice League due to a family tragedy. The Avengers director Whedon then stepped in to finish the project, which many fans say steered the movie in a more light-hearted direction and didn’t align visually with initial teasers and the tonal vision Snyder had for the film.

After the release and lacklustre reception, the #ReleasetheSnyderCut campaign grew momentum, urging Warner Bros. and DC to let fans see Snyder’s original film without the infamous cinematography and tonal changes.
