Willie le Roux’s great performance against the Wallabies

   WLR is next level! It makes a huge difference that he grew up playing fly-half – he reads play so well and has solid all round abilities, as we saw with Zane’s try.
   Do you think we should keep him at wing or fullback?

     His first game on wing for the Boks was amazing, therefore I think he should stay on wing and then Heyneke can see how he plays there. It is still early days for Willie and he still needs to settle at Test level (even though he is already playing brilliant rugby in my opinion). To move a player to a different position every 3rd or fourth game is not good for a players continuity…

       Agreed – like I said before, the number of le Roux’s back is relatively irrelevant. If he can move around the pitch in the way that he does, then he’ll pop up where he needs to be. Having a big tackler at fullback is great for a team like NZ, who are deceptively quick forwards and Kirchner showed everyone that he’s capable of handling that kind of responsibility. The ABs shouldn’t go to the air as much as the Wallabies did, but will likely put tactical kicks down the middle and to the wings, and that’s where Kirchner would work as he can return with interest, OR Kirchner can choose to go to Willie to spark a counter-attack. I’d keep Willie on the wing against the ABs.

         He’s the backline play maker the boks have been lacking in recent times. He made a backline that included Zane Kirchner, Ruan Pienaar and Morne Steyn look exciting and youthful!

           Exactly – he can bring out the best in players around him. Kirchner is a great player, but he’s been lacking that spark. Willie might just be the player that could put Kirchner into some gaps and space that will show what he can actually do at international level.

           Ya, thats exactly it, he brings the much needed spark that the South African team has needed, but then the question is if he can make Kirchner look good, imagine what he could do when linked up with someone like Colby? Could be some electric stuff!
