Huawei Watch Fit Review – A Total Fitness Tracker
Here’s what you need to know about Huawei’s Watch Fit.
The Huawei Watch Fit is a fitness tracker that can easily go head-to-head with the likes of the Fitbit Versa 3 and, at a push, the Apple Watch SE, while also delivering a few extra bells and whistles and coming wrapped up with an alluring price-tag.
Price and Features
The Huawei Watch Fit is priced at R2,299 (RRP), making it a far bit more inexpensive than most trackers, smartwatches, and watches on the market that deliver similar features. What also sets it apart is that the Huawei Watch Fit is a fitness tracker with a smartwatch look-and-feel, rather than committing too hard to one or the other. On top of the eye-catching design, you get a 10-day battery life (4 or 5 with the watch face on) delivered via a clear and bright 1.64 AMOLED screen, with some personal metric tracking too, including blood oxygen indications and on-watch-directed workouts.
Display Quality
The Watch Fit’s display is bright and clear even in harsh sunlight, but admittedly, its 456×280 resolution won’t blow you away. Of course, this is not a screen designed to deliver the crispest visuals in the world, but rather something that’s responsive, operates well in sunlight, and of course, doesn’t drain the battery.
Customisation Choices
There are approximately a dozen watch faces built into the device from the get-go, and you are able to download hundreds more from the Huawei Wellness app on your phone, and there are a lot of really interesting variations available.
Fitness Tracker
The Huawei Watch Fit has all the inclusions one would hope to get with any fitness tracker. There is an effective heart detector with 24/7 tracking and accurate GPS capabilities too, adding some pinpoint stats to your activity monitoring.
Health Features
On top of the fitness features, the Watch Fit also includes some great health-tracking capabilities. Its internal sensors are used to monitor pulse rate and blood oxygen, utilising green LEDs to check your pulse rate and red/infrared ones to assure your blood oxygen saturation (SpO2). There are also a lot more features from the inbuilt accelerometer, which deliver a host of metrics in order to provide you with some healthy insight into your day-to-day routine.
Battery Life
The additional area where the Huawei Watch Fit does well is in the battery life. It’s expected to last 10 days before you’ll need to slap it on charge, so knowing that you can get through an entire week with a couple of workouts pelted in before you require to recharge is an absolute win..
Verdict:
The Huawei Watch Fit is a great fitness tracker that works as well as a workout companion as it does a smartwatch. Think of it as a more comprehensive alternative to a Fitbit Inspire HR or a Huawei Watch GT2e, packaged into a more functional and day-to-day form factor that appeals to a wider audience.
