Gamers need to prepare for a gargantuan gaming gauntlet this holiday season, as some of the biggest releases of the year are lined up for a November showing; and we’ve rounded up 10 of the must-play releases arriving this month:

The Chant

Release date: 3 November 2022 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)

The Chant

For those looking for some thrills, The Chant is a single-player, third-person horror action-adventure game set on a remote island spiritual retreat. A peaceful weekend soon turns to dread after a group chant opens The Gloom, a psychedelic dimension of terror that feeds off negative energy. Players will have to interact with the group, while also fighting off some spooky creatures released from the other dimension. It looks like a fun throwback to old Silent Hill games, and should provide some unexpected surprises when it launches this November.

Sonic Frontiers

Release date: 8 November 2022 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PS4 | Xbox One | PC | Switch)

Sonic Frontiers

Sonic the Hedgehog will make his first foray into the open-world genre, which should be interesting to see how the speedy abilities of Sega’s anthropomorphic mascot are utilised in a sandbox environment. The combat and platforming challenges look interesting, and from the pre-release footage, the game looks to be a promising reenvisioning for the beloved character.

God of War: Ragnarok

Release date: 9 November 2022 (PS5 | PS4)

God of War: Ragnarok

One of the biggest games of the year is undoubtedly that of God of War: Ragnarök, the sequel to the 2018 soft-reboot/sequel of the iconic Playstation series. The game picks up after the events of the first game, which saw Kratos and his son Atreus embark on an adventure to fulfil Kratos’ wife’s last wish: to scatter her ashes at the highest peak in the nine realms. Ragnarök then picks up where the father and son duo triggered Ragnarök, the end of the world, meaning that there are going to be some seriously tough battles ahead for the two.
