As a celebratory nod to the Rugby World Cup going down in France in September, Adidas has updated the Predator Malice rugby boot with a new colourway to celebrate the global competition, and pay homage to the capital, Paris.

The ‘Road to Paris’ edition of the Predator Malice features a pink/navy colour combo, reminiscent of the light pink hue that is associated with the Parisian decor and atmosphere.

The off-white/pink colourway is subtle, but stands out, and is contrasted with some navy lines making up Adidas’ iconic three-stripes decal. The control spikes which feature across the Malice line-up are accented with a cream colour, which matches the soleplate and heel counter, giving the boot an elegant and clean look.

There are some tiny little additions too, such as bright red aglets on the end of the laces, which stand out strongly against the rest of the colour scheme.

As for the boot tech itself, it hasn’t changed since last year’s edition of the Malice, which we reviewed upon launch and had extremely positive things to say. It sticks with some of its standout features, including the rubberised ‘control spikes’, Sprintframe outsole which elevates your heel slightly, conical studs, comfy Sensepods around the ankle area, and asymmetric lacing system for a larger kicking zone.

Adidas has also just launched the new Adizero RS15 rugby boot which will be worn during the Rugby World Cup by the likes of Damian Willemse, Romaine Ntamack, and others.
