SA Company Launches First Vacuum Cooler in the World
Check out HoneyKomb coolers to take your camping to the next level.
A new South African cooler-box company, HoneyKomb Coolers, has launched a new cooler that features a patented technology, making it the first vacuum cooler on the market.
So, how does it work? Instead of using electricity, HoneyKomb Coolers use vacuum technology with a manual hand pump to seal in freshness without being dependent on electricity (you pump the air out, instead of in). Furthermore, the specially designed seals, hinges, and latches won’t let any of the bad stuff in, or good stuff out.
This means that the HoneyKomb cooler is able to suppress up to 3x more aerobic bacteria growth than other conventional coolers.
There are two sizes available: 20L (retailing for R3,730) and 50L models (R5,600). Both coolers are equipped with steel handles and have custom-designed bodies and seals to withstand 80kPa or more below atmospheric pressure (for over a month) to keep the contents cooler for 20% longer.
The lid also features two bottle openers, two cupholders, and a measuring surface (cm/iches), along with a stainless steel drain plug.
