4 Games of February 2024 You Can’t Afford to Miss
What are the games to keep on your radar this February?
February seems to have become the time for long-in-development games to finally see the light of day, as we finally see the release of DC’s Suicide Squad entry, along with a swashbuckling Ubisoft adventure. To get you excited for what’s to come, we’ve rounded up 4 of the most exciting games arriving this February:
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Release date: 2 February 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)
Coming from Rocksteady Studios, creators of the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, this Suicide Squad game sees players take control of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, who begrudgingly embark on a mission to take down Superman, The Flash, and the rest of The Justice League. Gameplay will be similar to that of the Arkham games and Gotham Knights, focusing on third-person exploration and combat, but players will have the ability to switch between the various supervillains in order to use their respective special powers.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
Release date: 13 February 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)
Focus Interactive’s latest story-driven action-RPG looks like a lot of fun, as you play as ghost hunters who have to send unpleasant spirits back to where they came from. You can switch between two playable characters and upgrade and evolve each one’s abilities as you work your way through gorgeously-designed environments and locales. There are also some tough decisions to be made throughout the game, which can alter the trajectory of your story. This is from the team that did Vampyr, which was an excellent unsung release, so we’re excited.
Skull and Bones
Release date: 16 February 2024 (PS5 | Xbox Series X/S | PC)
This one has been a long time coming from Ubisoft, but Skull and Bones will finally see the light of day in February. The game is an open-world pirate-themed action title that allows you to build your own ship, crew, and kit out your own pirate to sail the high-seas, hunt treasure, take on other pirate crews, and explore the world and quests it has to offer. It leans heavily on the ship-combat mechanics introduced in Assassin’s Creed games, so if that appealed to you, you’ll love Skull and Bones.
Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth
Release date: 29 February 2024 (PS5)
Rebirth is the second entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake project and picks up with iconic heroes Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Red XIII after they escape from the dystopian city Midgar and sees them embark on a journey in pursuit of Sephiroth, the vengeful swordsman from Cloud’s past who was thought to be dead. The game continues with the more action-orientated approach to combat, but keeps some of the classic Final Fantasy staples in its design.
