It was Superbowl Sunday this past weekend in the good ole US of A, and you know what that means: some big-name movie trailers during the commercial breaks.

Marvel released the first teaser for the third Deadpool film, now titled Deadpool and Wolverine, which sees Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) team up with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) on an adventure through the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film releases on 26 July 2024.

We also finally got to see the first trailer for Twisters, the long-in-development sequel/reboot to 1996’s Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.

Twisters hits cinemas in July.

Following Rupert Wyatt and Matt Reeves’ Planet of the Apes trilogy that began with 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes and concluded with 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes, 20th Century Studios officially announced a new entry into the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise, and the new trailer is here.

Titled Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the new movie will continue on from the first three entries, but will take place “many years after” the events of War for the Planet of the Apes, picking up with Cornelius, the son of Caeser who fronted the last three films.

The new landscape, now almost eradicated entirely of humans, sees one ape leader begin to enslave other groups to find human technology, which sets Cornelius off on a journey to find out more about the past in order to save the future.
