Ryan Phillippe & Emile Hirsch Fight Off Lions in Africa in First Trailer for ‘Prey’

Featuring three actors you probably haven’t heard in a while, Prey stars Ryan Phillippe, Mena Suvari, and Emile Hirsch as a group of plane crash survivors who have to find their way out of the Kalahari desert. Adding to the unfortunate circumstance is the fact they crashed right in the middle of the Kalahari’s largest game reserve.

The ‘man vs. lion’ plot does feel incredibly similar to 2022’s Beast starring Idris Elba, but we’re always down for some more animal survival movies; and this one, despite a smaller budget, seems like an interesting spin.

The film’s title also shouldn’t be confused with the Predator prequel, Prey, which came out in 2022.

Ryan Phillippe’s Prey releases in South African cinemas on 17 May 2024.
