While rugby league may not be the most popular version of the oval ball game, you have to appreciate the finishing ability of the game’s best finishers. The Melbourne Storm’s Xavier Coates is one of those try-machines, and he has scored easily the best try of his career against the Warriors in Round 2 of the 2024 NRL season.

What made it even more special was that the Storm were trailing 2 points in the last 30 seconds, with essentially one last play to make something happen. Thankfully, Coates got the ball in a little bit of space but made the most of it despite a great effort from the Warriors’ defence.
