Gladiator 2 Trailer Drops, Watch it Here

While it’s been 24 years since the release of the first film (yes, you can check that), the sequel for Gladiator is hitting cinemas later this year, and the first trailer has just been released.

Once again coming from Ridley Scott, Gladiator II picks up two decades after the death of Caesar and the events of Gladiator. The story now follows Lucius — the grandson of Rome’s former emperor Marcus Aurelius and son of Lucilla — who lives with his wife and child in Numidia. Roman soldiers led by general Marcus Acacius invade, forcing Lucius into slavery. Inspired by the story of Maximus, as depicted in the original 2000 film, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator while opposing the rule of the young emperors Caracalla and Geta.

Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, Joseph Quinn, and Fred Hechinger all star, and the film hits theatres on 22 November 2024.
