3 Exciting Games We Can’t Wait to Play in January 2025
Here are the games to keep on your radar this January!
2025 is set to be a monster year for games with some huge releases coming our way. But before we head deep into the meat of the year, January already has some cracking releases to get excited for, and we’ve rounded up 3 of the most interesting looking games to check out this month:
Eternal Strands
Release date: 28 January 2025 (Xbox Series X/S | PS5 | PC)
Eternal Strands is one of the most unique looking games arriving this month, being somewhat of a mix between Shadow of the Colossus, Zelda, and God of War. In this third-person action adventure, players have to fight epic, towering creatures along with other enemies. However, the game features a twist in that you need to use magical elemental powers to take down enemies in creative ways, such as freezing, burning, or using telekenetic powers to launch items from the environment at them. It looks great too, and has an animated cartoon style to the whole thing.
Dynasty Warriors Origins
Release date: 17 January 2025 (Xbox Series X/S | PS5 | PC)
The Dynasty Warriors franchise is almost the OG of horde-fighting hack-‘n-slash action, and the long-running series is getting a soft-reboot, of sorts, with Dynasty Warriors Origins. Players have to ride through the Chinese battlegrounds, take on tons of enemy armies, and defeat the warlords behind them; all while strategically managing your troops too. It looks slick, fast, and furious, and should be a ton of fun when it drops this January.
Sniper Elite: Resistance
Release date: 30 January 2025 (Xbox Series X/S | PS5 | PC)
The iconic head-popping franchise is back with a spin-off from the main Sniper Elite series, but this is anything but a smaller experience, as Rebellion have crafted arguably the most dynamic and well-built Sniper Elite games to date. The series takes a pivot with a brand-new protagonist in a different time of World War 2, setting out the new sharpshooting hero on an adventure to stop a potentially game-changing Nazi innovation.
