Christian Bale “Jealous” Of Affleck’s Batman Role
Even though he wanted to call it quits, Bale has some regrets about leaving the cape behind.

With Ben Affleck taking over the role of Batman going forward in Zack Snyder’s incarnation in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Christian Bale, the star of the Dark Knight trilogy has admitted to being a little “jealous” when he heard the news.
Bale was adamant come the end of his work on The Dark Knight Rises that, unless Christopher Nolan was directing again, his Batman days were over. That said, how did Bale feel when he heard that Affleck was the new Batman?
“I’ve got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going ‘go on… let’s do another’. So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour,” said Bale to Empire magazine.
He added that “I’m 40. The fact that I’m jealous of someone else playing Batman…I think I should have gotten over it by now”.
Bale also confirmed that he hasn’t spoken to Ben Affleck directly about the role, but has been in email contact with him, “offering bits of advice”. He added that “I would imagine he is doing everything he can to avoid anything that I did”.
