Rugby 16 Game Coming This Year?

Rugby fans have been left feeling a little out-in-the-cold recently. After the excruciating wait and eventual disappointment with Rugby 15, things have been looking a little grey for lovers of the virtual oval-ball, but it looks as if another rugby game is set to make an impact.

YouTuber The ScottishCannon, who posts rugby-related gaming videos and who we’ve even been interviewed by, recently asked Sanzar CEO Greg Peters about the possibility of a rugby game, to which he replied:

So by all accounts there is another rugby game coming out this year, and it’s most likely not an eventual follow-up to Rugby 15 from HB Studios, as they are lacking the licenses Peters is referring to.

With 2015 being a Rugby World Cup year and a great opportunity for developers and publishers to capitalise on the popularity of the sport, it’s not a surprise that another game from a different developer is in the works, but from who? EA Sports? Sidhe? Big Ant?
