Anyone who has a set of eyes must’ve seen Derick Watts & The Sunday Blues’ “Stop the Knot” video last week showing the comedy group driving around Cape Town and cutting people’s “top-knot” haircut.
The video generated a lot of buzz, to say the least, and upset a few people in interweb land, but now they’re here to apologise for all of it and make their peace.

It’s a bit lame that they it was their friends. It’s shocking to see how many people let their frustrations out in comments of videos. These dudes are funny and sometimes we need people to poke fun at our cultures, we need to learn to laugh at ourselves.

Completely – people are too quick to jump to attack others before assessing the real situation. Being self-aware and having a laugh at yourself is a sign of confidence and a good way to diffuse cultural trends – good and bad. Well played to Derick Watts & The Sunday Blues. I watched the Stop the knot video and i must say it is very funny. You can however not runaround cutting off people’s hair. Luckily it turned out to be a hoax. People need to have a laugh sometimes even if it is at the expense of others.
