Special Edition Hennessey Heritage Mustang Cranks Out Some Serious Horsepower

Hennessey Performance Engineering is a Texas-based company whose goal is to get the absolute most out of any vehicle they get their hands on, while making it look as ridiculously beautiful while doing so.

Their most recent (and 10,000th) build is a Mustang that they’ve given a very extensive overhaul to. Ford fans will recognise the red and white livery as being very reminiscent of the 1967 Le Mans-winning Ford GT – and there’s a lot of additional old-school aesthetic that gets introduced to this modern muscle car.

The foundation is a Mustang GT, but instead of leaving the 5-litre V8 naturally aspirated, they decided to pair it with a V8’s best friend: a supercharger. The result is that the horsepower output is boosted to 808, the 0-100km/h time is 3.3 seconds and it can cover a quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds. It also boasts a top speed of over 300km/h, so this thing doesn’t just look quick, it legitimately is.

Additional performances upgrades to keep all that power in check have been applied across the suspension, braking, and tires – and it will look especially sporty set on 20-inch wheels.

Anyone that wants to get one of these pieces of American automotive history will have to move fast, though, only 19 models will be built at $90,000 (around R1,295,000) each, but considering the performance you get out of it, that’s actually a bargain in modern supercar terms.

Check out more Hennessy Performance projects here, including their plan to make the world’s fastest production car that will top out roughly 450km/h!
