Puma & The Weeknd’s XO Sneaker Collaboration — SA Pricing, Availability
After months of anticipation, The Weeknd and PUMA have officially unveiled the debut PUMA x XO Collection.
Collaborations between high-end brands and fashion-forward celebs are all the rage at the moment, and following their first team-up, Puma have once again partnered with The Weeknd to create the XO range.
The range is combining two fairly popular trends at the moment; military and minimalism. The design of the range’s Parallel boot carries both those concepts through its lines, with the strongest elements tapping into military cues: thick sole with chunky bolstering at the heel, gunmetal lace eyelets, and a high collar that extends well above the ankle.
The upper is constructed of Italian Nubuck leather and has clean lines with very little in the way of distracting accents, featuring only the traditional Puma sweeping logo along the lateral and medial side, looping around to meet in a heel pull-tab at the back of the shoe. Just above the pull-tab is vertical zip that builds on the military theme and also allows for a little but of extra adjustability.
The off-white cream of the leather also makes for a sensible option since its versatility will mean it goes with more pieces than an adventurous colour. If you’re in the market for some quality sneakers with classic lines and in a solid colourway, perhaps look into treating yourself with the Puma x XO Parallels?
These will be priced at R4,299 from 24 August, and will be available exclusively through Shelflife, one of SA’s sneaker suppliers that always have their ear to the ground when it comes to exclusive product drops.
