Set a New PB with Nike’s Zoom Pegasus Turbo
Nike reveals its Zoom Pegasus Turbo runners to ready you for summer!
Anyone who’s keenly familiar with Nike’s famous running shoe models will remember the original Air Pegasus that was released way back in 1985. Over the years, the Pegasus namesake has undergone a lot of transformations, but it has always been a lightweight, functional running shoe meant more for getting some good miles in rather than looking good on your Instagram.
Luckily, the Zoom Pegasus Turbo is going to be able to do both. The tenacious athleisure trend is still going strong, so wearing running shoes pretty much everywhere except to weddings and funerals is still acceptable.
But, if you’re planning on doing some hard road miles to prep for a marathon, or just to keep in shape – there’s more running-inspired tech in the Turbos than you can shake a stick at.
The lightweight and breathable upper is a pretty standard fuse-type material, but the sole is where the real value is. The ZoomX Foam is one of Nike’s lightest to date, but also gives an 85% energy return with each stride, so you can keep going further for longer.
But if you don’t care about doing any serious cardio and just want some runners to make your daily walk better (while looking fly at the same time), they’ll tick that box perfectly, too.
The core colourway is a grey, black, white, and “hot punch” combo, which straddles the line between subtle and audacious – right where Nike’s sweet-spot lies.
The Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo will hit SA soon with a R2,699.95 price-tag.
