We’ve already seen that Under Armour can put out products that can rival the likes of Nike and Adidas when it comes to their road running shoes, and that seems to be the case for their trail running silos as well. The latest addition to their trail range is the ruggedly-outfitted Horizon BPF.

The jagged outer sole is one of the most notable features, and hides a few key features within the base to ensure the runner’s comfort. The most important inclusion contributing to its cushioning is a set of foam ‘pucks’ that sit in the heel and forefoot, which provide responsive comfort in those high-stress zones – and the EVA midsole gives optimised cushioning, too.

The monocoque upper is all about breathability in varied conditions, with the air mesh designed to be quick-drying and comfortable should you run into any water on the trail. The fitted collar rounds out the comfort features on the upper.

It will be released in the soft green/mint hue colourway in South Africa, retailing for R2,299 from Under Armour stores around SA (Waterfront, Cape Town; Mall of Africa, Johannesburg; Sandton City, Johannesburg; and Menlyn Mall, Johannesburg).

So, if you need a hardy trail runner that doesn’t compromise when it comes to style the Horizon BPF is definitely an option to consider!
