The Cheetahs managed to overcome a Waratahs comeback in Sydney to win 27-26 in an incredibly tight encounter in Round 5 of the 2013 Super Rugby tournament.

The visitors kicked-off the try-scoring with Willie Le Roux chipping over the Waratahs defence and offloading to Ebersohn to score.

A great backline movement saw Raymond Rhule get into the right corner for the second of the Cheetahs’ tries.

The Waratahs did have some reward after some hard work, with winger Peter Betham smashing through the defence from a planned move, and then having the strength to reach over for the line.

Adam Ashley-Cooper also took a short pass and pushed through a few defenders to ground the ball, putting the Waratahs back in contention.

Raymond Rhule got his second try when he came from deep to pocket a great pass from Sarel Pretorius to race over the Waratahs’ tryline.

With a one point difference (27-26), the Cheetahs were able to hold out a spirited Warathas attack in the dying minutes, which secured the Cheetahs with their second win on the road.
