JP Pietersen knows Kings can be a “handful”
Sharks winger sees the dangers of the team’s upcoming opponents.
The Sharks are set to face the Super Rugby newcomers, the Kings, in Port Elizabeth for Round 4 of the tournament; and Sharks winger JP Pietersen knows the dangers they pose, particularly that of Kings winger Sergeal Petersen.
“Sergeal Petersen did well in his first game for the Kings in their game against the Force, he got two tries,” said Pietersen.
“He’s a really good talent and I think he’s going to be a handful for us on Saturday, we all know what we have to look out for. I think he has a bright future ahead of him,” added Pietersen.
The 26-year old flyer is also aware of his leadership role within the Sharks, and the reliance on him from other players to perform.
“I think my role is to bring out the best in everyone’s abilities,” he says, “and I will help where I can, if Frans Steyn needs help, I’ll help. The most important is to look after the youngsters, help with their focus and bring out the best in them.”
The Sharks will take on the Southern Kings at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in PE on 9 March 2013.
