Morne Steyn leaving Bulls for Stade Francais
Bulls playmaker set to join French Top 14 side at the end of the season.
Morne Steyn is set to leave the Bulls for French Top 14 club Stade Francais following the conclusion of the 2013 rugby season.
The Springbok flyhalf was previously rumoured to be leaving the Pretoria side, but the Blue Bulls Company has now confirmed the move.
“I have invested so much of my life with the Bulls, so it was a very tough decision to make. I basically owe everything I achieved in rugby to them, but the opportunity to join Stade comes at the right time in my career,” said Steyn. “I always wanted to play some rugby abroad and experience a different lifestyle and now have the opportunity to go and do that.”
Steyn’s deal includes a three year contract with Stade Francais until June 2016.
However, the main focus for the Bulls will be to prepare for the Blues at Eden Park, Auckland, on 10 March 2013.
