Ahead of the Springboks’ big encounter with the Wallabies on Saturday at Newlands, Cape Town, young flanker Siya Kolisi has made it clear that the team expects the Australians to “bring it” when the two sides meet.

“Australia will come hard at us and try to fix the mistakes they made in Brisbane,” said Kolisi.

The 22-year old said that he admired the Wallabies during the 38-12 drubbing in Brisbane, as they never conceded to defeat.

“I was impressed when, even though Australia was so far behind (on the scoreboard), they never gave up trying and we battled to close out the game,” added Kolisi.

“They are a good outfit, and they’ll bring it on by stepping up their play a notch or two at Newlands.”

Kolisi knows that the Boks have a few things to work on ahead of their upcoming home fixtures for the rest of the Rugby Championship.

“I think we slipped up our one-on-one tackling and our kicking game must improve.”

“These are the things that we have chatted about this week. We also need to make sure that we move into better positions to get on top in the kicking game,” added Kolisi.

With regards to the controversy and loss to the All Blacks at Eden Park, Kolisi said that the team is more concerned with the task ahead.

“We’ve put that game out of our heads and started focusing on Australia. What happened there is history now,” he said.

“Our team for Saturday has not yet been named, so I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to run out at Newlands, which is my home stadium.

“I’m not really a man that likes to put emotion into rugby, but obviously it is going to be special for me playing in front of everyone in my town.

“The Boks have a good winning record at Newlands, but that won’t win us the game on Saturday. We still have to pitch up and play well. We are not going to put the excellent Newlands records in our heads.”
