Let’s face it, there’s a large portion of the South African population who love to live the coastal lifestyle… even if they don’t live anywhere near the beach. Seriously, Joburg has a party spot called “The Beach” which is pretty much a giant sandpit atop a building in the CBD – everyone wants a piece of those chilled coastal vibes. Now, thanks to the super cool dudes over at PEG, a coastal lifestyle brand selling everything from relaxed T-shirts and slacks to collared shirts and even longboards keeping it chilled is easier than ever!

People say that everyone is a product of their environment, well for PEG that’s completely true! The brand’s sense of style is all thanks to the laid-back coast life of the founders’ hometown, Durban where PEG started as a single concept store in 2009. PEG made a pretty big name for themselves in Durbs, selling men’s and women’s apparel and accessories to local surfer types, beach bums and tourists who wanted to take a piece of ‘the chill’ home with them.

If we’re being totally honest it was their awesome longboards that first caught our eye a little while ago, but then we found out that they also make all sorts of other cool stuff and we just had to tell the world about them. Their longboards are incredibly unique and feature some outrageous designs that will have you struggling to choose just one. Tops of our list is the Pintail Longboard 37″ Joystick for its old school Nintendo joystick design on the back and the Tokoloshe Longboard for its distinct local flair. You can get your hands on a PEG longboard for about R950.

Their boardies and T-shirts are also pretty awesome and come in a variety of designs ranging from zany and out there to basic block colours to suit any style. You can pick something up for your next beach holiday for about R350. If boardies and T-shirts aren’t your thing then check out their range of collared shirts, priced from R450 – they are bound to turn heads when you walk into the beach bar.

But wait there’s more! You’d be wise to check out the PEG online store today as they are currently having a sale on boardies (R100) and a few of the Longboards!
