The weekend is around the corner and if you’re looking for a relaxed trip to the cinemas this weekend, and there’s a lot of choice on offer with some big releases launching this Friday, 10 April, so here’s your handy guide on what you should be watching:
The Gunman
Sean Penn makes his return to the big-screen this weekend in a movie that was partially filmed in South Africa -giving it that little bit of local flair.
The Gunman follows an international spy named Martin Terrier (Penn) wants to get out and settle down with his longtime love (Jasmine Trinca). The organization he works for refuses and makes things difficult for him so he’s forced to go on the run across Europe in an effort to clear his name and save himself from the organization.
Robot Overlords
Robot Overlords – it sounds ridiculous, and we want to see it. In the film, Earth has been conquered by robots from a distant galaxy. survivors are confined to their houses and must wear electronic implants, risking incineration by robot sentries if they venture outside.
Spare Parts
Spare Parts tells the inspirational true story of four Hispanic high school students who form a robotics club under the leadership of their school’s newest teacher, Fredi. With no experience, 800 bucks, used car parts and a dream, this ragtag team goes up against the country’s reigning robotics champion, MIT. On their journey, they learn not only how to build a robot, but how to build a bond that will last a lifetime.
The cast includes George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis, Carlos Penavega, Esai Morales, and Jose Julian.
