Movies this weekend

If you’re planning on hitting the movies this weekend, we’ve got you covered for what’s on. This weekend we’ve got a prehistoric-inspired blockbuster, a dangerously seductive assassin and a club that, let’s just say, you don’t really want to be a part of.

Jurassic World

Chris Pratt stars in the fourth instalment in the beloved Jurassic Park franchise, and Parks and Recreation star should breathe some new life into the primeval romp. This time around, the park is bigger, more dangerous, and there’s some hybrid dinos hanging around, so expect some pretty hair-raising moments when Jurassic World drops this month.

Everly

If the prospect of seeing Salma Hayek kickass and looks great doing it, Everly should be on your radar. Directed by Wrong Turn 2 helmer Joe Lynch, the film stars Hayek as a slave who escapes her captors and systematically takes out the criminals sent to kill her. And more specifically, it’s basically Die Hard in a room.

The Riot Club

The Riot Club is somewhat reminiscent of films like The Skulls, focusing on a secret fraternity where power and privileged get taken a little too far. The Riot Club follows two first-year students at Oxford University who join the infamous society, where reputations can be made or destroyed over the course of a single evening.

Is there anywhere in Joburg that is showing Jurassic Park not in 3D? I planned to go see it on Saturday at Hyde Park but it was only in 3D. I ended up watching Pitch Perfect 2… It was fun but it’s not going to win any Oscars.

I still want to see Mad Max, does anyone know when it’s going to go off cinema?
