XCOM 2

Gravity and gunplay! It’s a pretty meaty week for gaming releases to get February under way. Here’s our pick of the bunch:

XCOM 2

Release date: 5 February (PC)

In this strategy sequel to the tactical squad shooter XCOM: Enemy Unknown, an unpleasant group of aliens has invaded Earth and set up a tyrannical government meant to keep us lowly humans in our place. That’s not how you roll, so it’s time to fight back by guiding a group of rebels as they fight to take the planet back, one turn at a time.

Call of Duty Black Ops III: Awakening DLC

Release date: 2 February (Xbox One, PS4, PC)

The first of four planned DLC map packs, Awakening, arrives for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 players this week and features 4 new multiplayer maps – Skyjacked, Rise, Splash, and Gauntlet – and the next chapter in the Zombies saga, Der Eisendrache. This should reinvigorate CoD players and keep them busy for quite some time.

Gravity Rush Remastered (PS4)

Release date: 2 February (PS4)

Gravity Rush Remastered follows the mysterious young hero Kat and her incredible, gravity-defying powers. Players can traverse a beautiful city in all directions with full 1080p HD visuals, performance improvements, and — of course — DualShock 4 support. As a bonus, all the original DLC packs from the PS Vita version come packed in the Remastered edition.

Not a Hero

Release date: 2 February (PS4)

Retro-style action games don’t get much more stylish, silly, or downright violent than Not a Hero, a game about a giant rabbit from the future who runs for mayor to clean up a city filled with criminals. The rabbit — named BunnyLord — hires you to gather a group of ultra-violent vigilantes and slaughter hordes of enemies. The over-the-top action will surely appeal to fans of movies like Kingsman and Django Unchained. Just try not to run out of ammo.
