There are a horde of movies releasing this Valentine’s weekend, and MenStuff will give you the low-down on what’s hitting the big-screen.
The weekend is fast approaching, people, and before you commit to anything, you should check out the main attractions at your local cinema as there are some crackers releasing this Friday.
The Wedding Ringer
13 February
Doug Harris (Josh Gad) is a loveable but socially-awkward groom-to-be with a problem: He has no best man. With less than two weeks to go until he marries the girl of his dreams, Doug is referred to Jimmy Callahan (Kevin Hart), owner and CEO of Best Man, Inc., a company that provides flattering best men for socially challenged grooms. What ensues is a hilarious wedding charade as they try to pull off the Big Con, and an unexpected budding bromance between Doug and his fake best man.
Are You Here
13 February
This great cast which includes Owen Wilson, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, Laura Ramsey, and Jenna Fischer, combine for an interesting comedy about life, death and friendship.
The story of Are You Here follows two childhood best friends embark on a road trip back to their hometown after one of them learns he has inherited a large sum of money from his recently deceased estranged father.
Kingsman: The Secret Service
13 February
Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, and Michael Caine all star in this quirky spy movie that’s full of action and laughs.
The story follows the Kingsman – a super-secret spy organisation that recruits an unrefined, but promising, street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program—just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
Fifty Shades of Grey
13 February
In most likelihood, you’ll be dragged to the cinemas this Friday by your girlfriend to watch the most “scandalous” movie of the year, so you may as well know what the heck it going on.
The film follows literature student Anastasia Steele’s life changes forever when she meets handsome, tormented billionaire Christian Grey. Cue bondage.

I’m very keen to see the Wedding Ringer, I watched both of the Think Like A Man movies recently and they were very good.
The Kingsmen is brilliant, a must see on the big screen.
Are You Here isn’t really worth watching at the movies. At the prices they are at the moment, it’s maybe worth waiting for when it comes on Dstv OnDemand.
I can only imagine how bad 50 Shades is going to be. Although apparently Brett Easton Ellis rewrote the script so it should be alright. I guess this is going to be the American Psycho for women.
