Incredible individual performances, thrilling comebacks, and some undeniable skill made for an incredibly entertaining weekend of sport. But with so many great moments, we decided to rank out top 5; so without further ado, here are our picks of the best sporting moments from the past weekend:

Akira Ioane goes beast mode against Fiji – New Zealand Sevens’ new star-find Akira Ioane showed how dangerous he can actually be, displaying some immense, speed, skill and power against Fiji.

Galvão’s finish – There were some great goals across the big leagues this weekend, but credit has to be given to Lucas Galvão, who scored an absolute cracker for SC Rheindorf Altac in the Austrian Bundesliga.

All Blacks steal it at the death – New Zealand managed to claw their way back into the Cup final of the Sydney Sevens, securing a last-gasp win with a post-siren try by Reiko Ioane.

Beck’s chase and tackle – Australia’s Nicole Beck showed exactly why you should never give up on defence, putting in a try-saving tackle on Ireland’s Amy-Lee Murphy in the Women’s segment of the Sydney Sevens.

Eels shock at Auckland 9s – the Parramatta Eels stunned the home team, the New Zealand Warriors, in the final of the Auckland Nines rugby league competition, putting on a brilliant performance packed full of exciting running.
