5 Great Lifehacks Using Lego
A couple pieces of Lego and a few DIY skills can go a very long way. Check out MenStuff’s guide to Legofying your home.
Whether you’re 60 or 16, you must have encountered Lego in one way or another, and those colourful and inventive blocks are not only for child’s-play, but they can also be used to craft great household hack items. We’ve put together some of the easiest and most useful ways to give Lego that second life around your home.
Lego men make great cable holders
Who knew that Lego designed their figures’ hands perfectly to hold Apple’s Lightning connector and other types of cables? Stick a Lego brick on your desk, attach Lego figure(s), and, voilà, an ingenious cord-catching solution.
Key rack
Constantly losing your keys at home? Just use double-sided tape to stick a flat Lego base plate to the wall, and then thread a small holed-Lego flat piece onto your keyring or chain. You’ve now got an easy and innovative ways to hang up your keys by the door.
Phone Docking Station
If you don’t want your phone lying down on your desk or nightstand, using Lego to create a small docking station is a lot cheaper than forking out to buy one. Only a few bricks are needed to hold up the phone, but you could always take it to a new level and mount your charger in the station, or add wheels, because why not… it’s Lego.
Coaster set
Avoiding stains and spillage on your coffee table is key, and creating a Lego coaster will not only be easier and more cost-effective, but it’ll also be an ice-breaker when you invite some guests over.
Organiser
We’ve always got extra pens, stationary or even silverware to store, but never the right box to fit it all in. Well, just build one. Make small compartments using normal Lego blocks, and just extend the box with more containers if necessary.
